The word “dual” on a spec sheet doesn't mean double the value. It means double the complexity, and complexity has a cost. That's the first thing I tell anyone who asks me to review a product with “dual” in its name. Whether it's dual-channel RAM, a dual-sport motorcycle, or a dash cam with dual lenses, the question isn't “is it better?” The question is “what does the second function cost you in setup, compatibility, and maintenance?”

The best decision is the one you made with open eyes. And if you can get your vendor to show you the full price before you commit, that's the best benchmark of all.
